"Bedrock Intervention ".

By  Tim Pugh 2018
The temporary intervention is a continuation of an earlier artwork created using an old mattress dumped on a beach and pebbles.I wanted to further develop this idea and returned to Parton beach in West Cumbria in late August 2018.To my surprise I found another burnt out spring mattress sitting on the sand.I draped the remains over a boulder for support and again filled the spring cavities with different coloured pebbles.Showers of rain constantly interrupted the construction but at least the tide was going out this time and the artwork took five hours to create and lasted till the next tide came in overnight.
