“Portal Porthole “.

The mixed media artwork was created on a sandstone boulder at South Beach,West Cumbria in the Summer of 2023.I drew out a depiction of a boat porthole on the surface using pencil,iron ore and coal pebble pigment from locally harvested pebbles.The inner space is a photograph of the same beach in a past time illuminating a captured visual memory .The visual illusion seemingly invites the onlooker to participate in another space and time within the boulder and beyond.
