Beech Leaf Drawing.

The artwork is a photograph of a sketch of a crumpled up beech leaf I found still attached to its tree.I chose the smooth tree bark surface of the tree as a canvas in which to accomplish the drawing using pencil,charcoal,chalk and pen. I like to draw natural objects as a way of understanding the subtle forms more and as a route to re engage my drawing practice directly  situated into the landscape.The drawing was completed in April 2025 in Hawarden Woods in Flintshire,North Wales and gradually faded away over course of a few weeks leaving no permanent impression.
