James Moakes

This interactive public artwork was developed by the Artist following a series of sculpture workshops with local people of all ages. He worked in close partnership with the group of volunteers who had teamed together to create Rainhill Eco Garden, Exchange Place, St Helens L35 4ND. It's a beautiful community garden that demonstrates what can be achieved with recycled materials, innovation and hard work. The group selected Adrian because of his vast experience in participating with communities to create unique sculptural installations, coupled with his long-standing interest in horticulture & the environment. In keeping with the group ethos, the sculpture is fabricated from 93% recycled steel and can be used to collect rainwater for the plants. As you can see from the video of the opening on 2nd November 2014, it is also a great interactive activity for children and adults alike!
