Clytemnestra Nine

Clytemnestra Nine is the last and largest painting in the series. The tonal values are largely reversed and motifs reworked from other paintings maintaining references to the double headed axe, the ancient frescos and a “wallpaper” morphed into a tapestry. Ultimately it is a playful take on a serious and cathartic tragedy and deliberately inaccurate because it is a painting about painting. The series has been a response to the Greek drama “Agamemnon” by Aeschylus.
