Compositions with Brick

By Kim Norton 2016

Kim Norton

This is a material I have been working with for several years now and it's a material that is often overlooked or simply ignored. It makes up much of our built environment it differs in colour, texture, size and this all depends on how it's going to be used as a building brick as a paver or simply to create the facade of a building. The colour normally indicates where it was made depending on the clay line. For example Red brick comes from the south west and Staffordshire. Here I am developing a series of pieces that will be exhibited in two exhibitions later in 2016 and early 2017.
