Correspondence 5, All Yellow

The background of this painting (in the 'Correspondence' series) is based on a map of Paris, and this is drenched in the orange colour of sodium vapour street lights. It's framework also seems to make reference to the Tour D'Eiffel, with it's golden amber glow. Flower-shaped icons contain fogged snatches of trees, foliage and the botanical design of gates and bridges from specific locations in the city photographed on night walks.
