Correspondence 6, Channel, and Correspondence 8, St Rita of the Final Hour

This is related to the vision one might have of a landscape across which thoughts and electronic communication might travel. I this case, it is based upon a vague, remembered view of Calais, major port beyond the Channel. The regularly placed, star-formed icons across it's surface represent a static view of normally animated sparkles derived from a gmail emoticon frequently used. Materials: oil and graphite pencil on coated aluminium. These also form the final layer of another work related in content, size, and media (also represented here). It is an expanded sample rendered from an image of St Rita De Cascia. Materials: oil and pearl lustre on coated aluminium.

Ancient Garden Vision on the Archeologists Container

This is a painting of two layers relating to the experience and limitations of communication via Skype. The shadowy 'figure' is trapped behind a screen, obscured by the pointillist/divisionist dots of light. The colours suggest a nocturnal view, dominated by orange, which reflects of the ubiquitous colouring of the sodium vapour streetlamp.
