Discarded
By
Ann Goddard
2014
The piece consists of 5 units. Part of an ongoing body of work exploring the impact of human activity on nature, it was inspired by research into the marine environment. The forms allude to ‘ghost nets’…lost or discarded tangled nets which continue to fish, collect debris and endanger marine life.
Materials: Fragments of an old cotton fishing net, willow, wire, found objects
Technique: Knotted and woven constructions
