Encompass

By Joanna Mowbray 2006

Joanna Mowbray

'Encompass' is a hollow form with a double cavity. It is an asymmetrical construction which was created by using a simple sequence to organise the varying dimensions of each panel. The internal darkness of the space inside, with just a few shafts of light visible through the narrow end, became the most important elements of the sculpture, creating a quiet internal presence.
