Etna

By  Robert Foster 2018

Julian Claxton

'Etna' was the result of my contribution to the 'Test Space International at Manifesta 12'. The project asked a group of twelve artists to send instructions to the Test Space team for how a block of orange plasticine should be responded to remotely on Sicily during the running of Manifesta 12. My instructions were to: "Use the plasticine to make an embodiment of an emblematic local landmark or archeological object. Site this in a location deemed appropriate and document" The participating artists were: Blue Rider, Eilis Kirby, Frances Kelly, Harry Meadley, Hayley Lock, Helen Grant, lewd jaw, Mark Samsworth, Martyn Cross, Polly Kelsall, Robert Foster and Thomas Goddard. Thanks to Julian Claxton and the rest of the Test Space team.
