First Light, Second Life

First Light, Second Life follows drag artist Le Fil through places connected to their earlier life, away from the usual spaces where drag is expected to be seen.

I was interested in what happens when performance is brought back into everyday surroundings: brick walls, quiet streets, familiar corners, the kind of places that hold memory without announcing it. The work looks at drag not only as spectacle, but as a way of returning to yourself differently.

The series sits between portraiture, documentary and performance. It reflects on identity, visibility and transformation, and on the strange tenderness of revisiting places that may have shaped you before you had the language to fully understand yourself.
