Those Who Stayed
This series focuses on older gay men and the relationships, communities, and private lives they built at a time when visibility came with significant risk. The work reflects on love, resilience, and the emotional labour of staying, when leaving was often not possible or safe. By photographing these men in later life, the series acknowledges their role in shaping the freedoms and visibility enjoyed by younger generations today. It is both an act of documentation and a gesture of gratitude, recognising lives that were lived quietly, but with lasting impact.
