Forward Motion

By Jeni Johnson 2026

A layered painting on plywood panel with breeze blocks, in which circular forms emerge through a field of rust, umber and deep blue. The composition suggests movement across the surface, with each form acting as a held point within a shifting trajectory. Built through repeated layering and reworking, the work considers motion as something both directional and suspended, carrying something of early spring, where latent energy begins to move.
