Apples are held by bbq sticks, placed in the ground. From some views the apples appear in free fall, a wind fall. From other views the apples link to Harvest Festival, celebration, abundance, eating and merriment, the jewel like shapes also reminiscent of traditional Christmas decorations/baubles. (Harvest Festival was originally a pagan festival now linked to decorating churches with fruits and flowers.) There is also an atmosphere of enchantment, a fairy tale touch and glow, working in harmony with the Autumnal surroundings.
Hard Core apple event was run by Fermyn Woods Contemporary Arts inviting artists to use the apple harvest from their woodland premises, the Cottages.
