If I could Sink my Teeth in to the Whole Earth

Bridget Kennedy

13th – 17th April 2015 Chaired debate + finissage: 17th April 5:30 – 7:30pm Four artists will come together over a five-day period in an attempt to temporarily merge their practices. During their time in XL Gallery Bridget Kennedy, Katie McGown, Mair Hughes and Olivia Turner will install work in progress, share ideas and explore materials. Drawn by their common interest in the notion of “site” and what new knowledge might be gained from a deep investigation of place; they wish to instigate a dialogue not only amongst themselves but also with practitioners from both in and outside of the Fine Art sphere. For regular periods of time throughout the week the artists will be present in the gallery, discussing ideas, responding to each others work and working with their shared pool of materials. Visitors will be welcome to participate in these sessions. The exhibition will culminate in a chaired discussion between the artists and members of staff from the archaeology department.
