Celebratory Installation in Liverpool Parish Church (St Nick's), for 'Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008'. Inspired by man's relationship with the oceans and the hidden world of todays Port of Liverpool; its colourful characters and the ubiquitous shipping container. The installation comprised coastguard ropes / knots and a series of bespoke flags which took their shape from the aspect ratio of a container. Images photographed by the Artist were digitally printed onto fabric and stitched to the flags which were then suspended above the Maritime Chapel. Commissioned by Liverpool Parish Church and part-funded by Port of Liverpool owners Peel Ports and with very generous in-kind funding from many people from the maritime community.
