Luscious Fruit

Luscious Fruit Using primary colours, a piece of wire is dipped over and over again until it appears that it will fall, or, ripe for picking. The work examines paint as a sculptural medium and is part of a long series of work started over two years ago. The process of making is long and unpredictable but the outcomes have been enormously satisfying. I do not generally look for the aesthetic as an outcome and, of course, that is not primarily the case here although the end result is often aesthetically pleasing. Crossing boundaries between paint and sculpture, Luscious Fruit creates objects that are neither here nor there but are both here and there.
