Martyr’s Pulpit 2006 iron and steel painted with micaceous iron oxide.

This was made after Pulpit 2006 and is a companion to it, a contrasts to its ease of access. Martyrs’s Pulpit is very hard to get out of. It is about the dangers of religious extremism and fundamentalism. The flames refer to the glory of a martyr’s death, and the overall shape to weapons and missiles. It was made in response to the Iraq war and terrorist bombings in London. The flames refer to the glory of a martyr’s death.
