Mysteries Sixteen

This work suggests that decay and damage add an element to visual experience which can be transposed into a language of paint. It is an abstraction but references faded and crumbling surfaces, borders and illusive spaces. It is the sixteenth in the Mysteries series that responds to the act of looking at Roman wall painting.
