Nest

‘Nest’ is an experimental garment sculpture intervention that was commissioned for Chester Life Drawing at The University of Chester.

The sculpture was constructed from foraged willow, birch, blossom and lime twigs and included local taxidermy by Siobhan Megarrell whose delicate native birds adorned the nest and cropped up in unexpected places around the life drawing studio.

Participants had the opportunity to draw/paint using homemade watercolours and inks derived from tulips, daffodils, hyacinth flowers and oak galls, using fresh blossom and feathers as drawing implements.

An eclectic bird themed playlist set the tone, which also include an impromptu Spring piece on cello by the life model Anna Parkinson.
