Helix Aspersa

By Estelle Woolley 2010
Helix Aspersa is the Latin name for snail shell, while Helix is also Latin for galaxy. This delicate installation, nestled at the end of a cast iron tube, makes reference to the macro and the mico. It questions how the smaller things on our planet echo the larger cosmos. By looking through a tube into a spiral creation, we are reminded of the connectivity into the intimate world of nature through the golden ratio to the galaxy.
