'One centimetre is a little less than half an inch' is an animation installation commissioned by Craftspace for the Taking Time - Craft and the Slow Revolution exhibition. This piece consists of an antique writing desk and chair, sat on the desk is a computer monitor, a 1920's typewriter and a pile of A4 paper. On the computer monitor is an animation of the dismantling of a hand written document from the archive of the Dovecot Tapestry Weaving Company which describes the processes of weaving. The animation only runs when the typewriter is being used. Acknowledgements: Bute Archive at Mount Stuart Dovecot Studios Ed Holroyd Simon Neaves Craftspace and Helen Carnac
