Palmyra 2035

https://www.creators-station.jp/column/224775

The title Palmyra 2035 refers to the future, a cyclical imagined return to many gods, particularly referring to Palmyra ad385 when all pagan gods and idols were destroyed by zealots. Athena's statue was repaired only to be completely destroyed once more in 2016 by iSIS.

The head here references Athena, Palmyra was her temple and her statue was particularly singled out for destruction through blows to her head and body. In the future even if humankind destroys itself, the natural world will still exist. In this work she is a contemporary Green Woman
