Pink House & Housebound

‘Pink House’ and ‘Housebound’ are part of ‘A home for my son’ an ongoing body of work which deals with concepts of belonging and displacement. Simple houses are cast in a range of materials. ‘Pink House’ teeters on a clod of earth while ‘Housebound’ topples on a lump of cast plaster bound to it by a stripe of latex. The shape of the cast houses echoes Monopoly board pieces, emphasising ideas of profit, gambling, and winners and losers inherent to that game. The work investigates the human impact on the environment through a domestic lens.
