Quotidian

By  Andrew Howe 2015
As part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Shrewsbury Market Hall, I curated an exhibition Voyage of Enterprise. This featured commissioned art work, large digital screen display of images past and present and exhibition displays of the building architecture and history, history of markets in Shrewsbury and narratives from traders and people associated with the market over the years to the present day. In Quotidian, I made a series of photographs of fragments of the building fabric showing its wear and tear from 50 years of use. These familiar details are normally unnoticed and yet they have their own beauty. The photographs were on display in the exhibition in September 2015.
