Reading Sheffield

By  Lizz Tuckerman 2014 - 2017
Since 2010 members of Reading Sheffield have gathered oral histories in order to understand how the habit of reading was shaped and formed in mid 20th century Sheffield. I am drawing on the oral histories, matched transcripts, books of the period, visits to the charming participants, old photographs and the changing nature of public libraries as source references for new work and the development of a Reading Sheffield web site. This site is now up www.readingsheffield.co.uk.
