Resonance I

By  Adam Grose 2023
Through a series of layers and colours, each layer interacts and resonances with the previous and the next. These forms evolve through time, allowing resonances of colour and line to play with one another, complimenting and contrasting with one another. This work is inspired by paintings created in the 1990s when influenced by technology via semi-conductors seen at Philips Semi-conductors in Southampton. Through looking at the drawings and their use of colour to highlight the various layers etched in the silicone, these sparked ideas responding to these, in-turn creating a series forming the basis of paintings from the 1990s to the present. These form a series of small artworks inspired by forms seen in history, technology, African textiles, clan ownership, slavery, indentured servitude, texture, entropy, geometric designs seen in cave art, ancient building design and sacred geometrical designs used for meditative practices.
