Roath: In pieces

By Johana Hartwig 2014
In Pieces explores our relationship with the inanimate plethora of things that surround us and considers the way that we interact with our environment. Song is a means of communication and can establish abstract connections. The work responds to audible objects and spaces around Roath using sound and song. The project has involved local residents, by asking them to identify sounds made by objects in their area, those that define it or are significant to them in some way, a selection of these have been included in the work.
