'Seafoam Island' was made during my artist residency at Cambridge School of Art and shown at the Ruskin Gallery in April 2023.
The ceramic pieces were cast from ‘Polly Pocket’ type toys - compact/clamshell like objects that open to reveal inner worlds and mini biomes. I worked specifically with those created as part of the Pokémon franchise, objects that simultaneously represent the game world and the natural environment.
Material: Slip cast ceramic terracotta, direct to media photographic print, acrylic, mirrored card and insulation foam
