Serenity

“Serenity” reflects on the struggle to preserve mental health against persistent, self-destructive thoughts. Named after the psychiatric clinic where I was hospitalised thirteen years ago, the work connects personal experience with universal emotional states. The sculpture placed on my head symbolises inherited memories, relationships, and generational traces shaping identity. Embedded sound materialises intrusive thoughts through AI-generated voices, becoming a metaphor for loss of control. Yet moments of hope emerge through recordings of the sea, birdsongs, and a traditional Greek song. Throughout the performance, a recurring voice continues asking for water, seeking relief, care, and renewal.
