CATHARSIS unfolds as a ritual of letting go. An auto-ethnographic approach of recognising and releasing the “baggage” that can hold one back. It engages with ritualistic, mythical, unknown, but also disorderly forms of experience as alternative mechanisms of knowledge production and reproduction. Instead of remaining bound to the theatrical notion of performance, these themes manifest through expanded performative gestures arising from the voice, the body, and the spatial environment. They appear as intimate recordings, such as those capturing the rhythms of the heart or the movements of intestinal structures, as well as sculptural articulations and immersive environments that allow embodied transformation to emerge as a lived, felt encounter.
