Short&Forward Mobile Studio Project

The Short&Forward Mobile Studio is a collaborative venture with artist Louise Short, involving a converted VW long wheelbase delivery van which is the vehicle fora number of different projects, often stimulated by whatever location it happens to be in at the time. It has proved to be an essential component in the realisation of The End of Europe (Mapping the World at 1:1) series, as well as the collection of material for ongoing filmworks, such as Swarm Stories and Desert Water. The Mobile Studio project was part-inspired by this Forward family photograph of the trailer-caravan darkroom which Alice's grandparents custom-built and toured across Africa in the mid-twentieth century. The next post-colonial Short&Forward Mobile Studio project scheduled for July 2014 will be part of Systemas Ecoligicas in collaboration with Simon and Donna Beckmann at Cortijada de Los Gazquez in Andalucia. Then in early 2015 is a new collaboration with the Radovlijica Apicultural Museum in Slovenia.
