Skep

I made this willow headress for a collaborative show as part of CAMP's 3D Kin Dialogues, where artists made work that could be seen to be in dialogue with other artists practices. Skep references about Jane Jobling's work Fragile Homes - a paper honeycomb structure based on wasps nests. I am interested in how humans relate to the natural world without seeing themselves as separate from it. A skep is a beehive shaped dwelling. I am thinking about it as a headress, the remaining evidence of a performance in which the wearer becomes part of the landscape in which the insects are settling & making their homes.
