Solidarity Forever

Marking 40 years since the Miners’ Strike, the Durham Miners’ Gala 2024 commemorated the anniversary with a commissioned print.

Using the traditional slogan Solidarity Forever, large wooden type was letterpress printed in a hand-pulled edition, ensuring each print was unique. The type was hand-inked, blending red and black to create subtle variations across the series.

The prints were sold to raise funds in support of the annual Durham Miners’ Gala — the largest ongoing celebration of working-class culture in the country.
