Space for a Woman

Victoria Rance

Dimensions
172cm x 63cm x 33cm

This sculpture was made in response to two books, ‘Reading Lolita in Tehran’ by Azar Nafisi, and ‘Bounty’ by Caroline Alexander. Both document repressive treatment of women, the former during the Iranian revolution, and the second of Tahitian women by the British mutineers.
