Stitched reflections - a teabag book
By Kathy Ross
2024
This was part of my daily, slow stitch practise that provides time for reflection and soothing through simple stitch. As I tried stitching on teabags I discovered their strength, despite their size and thinness of the material.
The challenge is in that both sides of each stitched page are visible. This was a challenge for composition and finishing off.
What started out as induvial, stitched, drawings came together as tiny book.
Most materials are “gathered” from my stash, materials found at home (like the teabags) and from local thrifting. Some of the threads and fabrics are dyed using plants from my garden.
