Tiny meditation scrolls
By Kathy Ross
2024
These are stitched mediation scrolls made on reclaimed thread reels. When I went to pick them up I realised just how small they were. It felt important to go wit the process and make tiny ones.
I use slow stitch on a nearly daily basis as part of a soothing, reflective process.
This piece has been made with scraps of fabric, much of which has been dyed with plant dyes (mostly from my garden). The threads are a mixture of vintage silks, dyed silks, linen and thrift store finds. One of the reels is made using a plastic net vegetable bag that was first melted, then stitched through.
