Study for Capsule

The landscape background is based on NASA images of the untrodden planet of Venus. This is the first in a series of works in which the presence of humans in these inaccessible places is represented by an object informed by the various different probes, capsules and other spacecraft that have been sent up into unknown territory. They carry images that relate to life on earth in window-like enclosures, and in this case, they are filled with glimpses of plant life. Materials: Chalk, charcoal, earth pigments and gold leaf on Indian cotton rag paper.
