Artwork made at the Women and Mud Symposium, Arreciado, Spain. Strands of straw are attached to the wall using red mud from the land. Associations include flames, matches, paint brushes, spills, arrows, pointers, directions, clock hands, juggling, energy, magical wands, the straw glowing a bright white in direct sunlight or very subtly in the shadow. The works in the shadowy sheep barn glowed quietly from the walls and called to mind cave paintings or religious frescos and icons.
