A sculptural playground inspired by a geometric puzzle called the Tangram. Triangle, square and parallelogram are repeated, rearranged and transformed in different ways to create a geometric landscape of interlocking abstract and figurative forms. Whilst successful as a playground this welcoming public space is well used by various age groups in different ways.
An ambitious, coherent scheme with play at it's heart. Part of park regeneration driven by local improvements group. ROSPA (H&S) and local Residents Association, consultation throughout. Successful fundraising built on a limited budget available from the council. Tangram designs by pupils at local school incorporated into the scheme. Success of whole park recently recognised through RBKC environment award.
