The Belvedere: Ashford and St Thomas's Hospital

'm waiting on an approval for a project at Ashford and St Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at Chertsey, Surrey. Designs have been created for a windowless second floor corridor known as the back road & a second narrower access corridor into the Emergency Dept. I have created a scheme which appears to look out over parkland with the tops of trees and sky with bunches and garlands of flowers placed along the waist high dado rail, which appears as a guardrail on a bridge or a balcony, or belvedere from where to look out over the view. The work will be digitally printed on wall covering suitable for hospital environments. The concept was developed from research into the large country house estate known as Botley's Mansion and the nearby Silverlands estate and extensive gardens and grounds into which the first hospital was built.
