I'm lazy and I admit it, but aren't we all when it comes to doing useless tasks? Why waste hours and days painting something when by simply ignoring it you can still explain its presence? Take this painting for example, its called The white house because what caught my attention when I was walking along in the deep shadow of a building was the bend in the road, the red house to the left and the narrow street to the right, both views beneath the brilliant blue sky. Although it is the eyes that look it is the mind that sees. The white house only exists in our perception. I concentrated on that which caught my attention and painted only what was necessary, the only points of interest between the two viewpoints were the three dark windows. All that was worthy of note of the white house was that it was there but in itself it wasn't interesting, so why bother painting it?
