The sculpture celebrates science and innovation with an emphasis on the potential of exploration and breakthrough leading to positive applications. It draws inspiration from the electromagnetic experiments of William Sturgeon (1783-1850) which led to the generator and motor. Formally, the sculpture uses a communication between the bold constructions to create a dynamic force. A use of colour defines the magnet forms, adding to a sense of weight that is centred off the ground. The sculpture uses an industrial aesthetic.
