There's Something About Mary

Tony Bartholomew

The piece responds to the history of a high Victorian church in my home town, and its founder Miss Mary Craven (1814 – 1889), a respected and substantial citizen of the town. The hand-printed Victorian style dress was produced after a period of research and contemplation on the life of the determined and generous lady who generously provided most of the money to build the church.
