Tideline Beacon.

By  Tim Pugh 2021
The semi permanent structure was built in September 2021 at Borwick Rails ,Millom,West Cumbria. The structure was created on a man made slag waste beach left over from an old iron works . I used old bricks strewn on the beach to construct a monolithic structure perhaps suggestive of old industrial chimney skylines .The structure was sited on the approximate high tide spot and many of the bricks had their companies ‘ names stamped on their surfaces revealing local long gone brick factories. The artwork was created as part of my participation in the ‘ Unpublished Tour’ project where I was artist in residence at the site.
