"Tideline Shopping".

By Tim Pugh 2020
The temporary installation was created at South Beach ,Whitehaven,West Cumbria in late July 2020.I found a toy shopping trolley on the beach tideline as well as plenty of other debris. The trolley was placed on a plinth like boulder and filled up with the plastic debris.Whilst the installation is intended to highlight the threat to marine ecosystems from seaborne plastic ,I was equally attracted to the vivid colours and enjoyed the process of collecting and assembling the various components. After photographing the installalation,it was dismantled with some of the materials to be used in school workshops and for use in future art creation.
