 This artwork is one of three sculptures that connects art and science with an inquisitive need for facts. The drawing is of a plumed seed of an Aster viewed under a magnification is held as if in mid-flight with triangular uprights are pages of a hand-sewn book.  The fringe is handmade and is a one-off as the beads came from adapted necklaces representing a diverse London community.  The burnt candle represents Joseph Priestly's discovery (1774) (from Yorkshire) that plants create oxygen through photosynthesis.
