Two Walls Left Standing

By  Lucy Bevin 2021
This work was made from the remains of my Installation which was demolished. The title of the installation was The Uncanny Home it explored the idea of place and home, experienced physically and through memory, feeling and experience and how the home can write itself on the body. It also looked at the fragile boundaries of the home and what happens when we can no longer think of the home in the same way when our bodies change and the function of the home changes. Two Walls Standing can be interpreted as exactly that, the breaking down of the boundaries, the displacement of the walls but it is also a new sculpture and has a new set of criteria for the viewer.
