Women raised the monoliths...

By  Lucy Wright 2021
Like medieval churches, standing stones were once painted in bright colours, but after more than 1000 years of exposure to the sun, rain and wind, most of the pigments have worn away. 5x standing stones, polystyrene and jesmonite, photographed in Laughton Woods, Lincolnshire (August 2021).
